People with lupus may develop poor body image.
BILS was developed as a quick screen for body image evaluation specifically for lupus, using FDA guidelines, and feedback from male and female patients with lupus. It has 5 items, and is validated against three other longer body image measures.
It is available by itself for studies or patient care; and also is included as a domain within the LupusPRO. It is published and validated in numeorus languages, and is responsive to change in body image.
